Accessibility statement

We want every visitor — at any age and on any device — to be able to use this site comfortably.

Our commitment

Fresno Marble & Granite is committed to making our website accessible to the widest possible audience. We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and we design every page with readability in mind — generous type sizes, high contrast, and a clean serif/sans pairing chosen to be easy on the eyes.

What we've done

  • High-contrast color palette tested against WCAG AA contrast ratios for body text and headings.
  • Comfortable default body type (Inter, weight 400+) and serif headings (Cormorant Garamond) — no thin or hairline weights for reading copy.
  • Body links are underlined so they don't rely on color alone.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, main, footer, nav) so assistive technology can navigate the page.
  • Keyboard-friendly navigation — every interactive element is reachable with the Tab key and shows a visible focus state.
  • Descriptive alt text on product imagery; decorative images are marked as such so screen readers can skip them.
  • Page text scales up cleanly when you increase your browser's text size or zoom level.
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced motion setting — decorative video and animations are disabled when you've asked for less motion.
  • Respect for the operating system's increased contrast setting — decorative textures fall back to flat solid colors.

Standards we target

We measure our work against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That standard covers four broad goals: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

Known limitations

We're honest about the parts of the site that aren't perfect yet:

  • Homepage background video. The hero on our homepage plays a short, muted, looping video for atmosphere. It is decorative, has no audio, and is automatically hidden if you have reduce motion enabled in your operating system.
  • Slab photography. Some slab images use short generic alt text (e.g. the slab name). We're working through the catalog to add richer descriptions of color and movement.
  • Third-party tools. Embedded maps and video players come from third parties (Google, YouTube). We don't fully control their accessibility, but we choose embeds that support keyboard control and captions where possible.

Tell us if something doesn't work

If you run into a barrier on the site — something you can't read, a button you can't reach, an image you'd like described — please let us know. We'll do our best to respond within three business days and to fix the issue or get you the information you need another way.
